Delta Corp - A huge but risky opportunity

They have gone into the hibernation during this tough period as their previous forecasts/promises have gone haywire. They would come back with typical swag once the situation normalizes. It shows the character of the management which faces the situation how it responds to smaller investors. I can tell you that all big institutional investors/DIIs have adequate corporate access. I noticed change in confidence as soon as banning of locals and the competition from 6th and bigger vessel started impacting their sales growth. To be fair to them there is no bankruptcy risk here due to strong balance sheet but regular updates help folks maintain conviction.

Not directly connected with delta but
nazara and delta jointly own a stake in halaplay and based on what i have read nazara might be getting ready for an ipo.

Disclaimer : i am invested in delta corp, this is not investment advice and i am not an investment advisor

How is this relevant to delta?? Halaplay isnt listing …

have now edited and mentioned that its not directly connected.

i mentioned it because there seems to be a huge buzz around online gaming companies and i feel there could be a rub off effect.

Anybody is having any update about how was the business during December end and now…? How much damage has been done by covid to other casino players which can do some favour to delta?

I live in Goa and the casinos have been operating full swing since several weeks now. Irrespective of the day of the week, it’s usually pretty crowded. The long weekends help further.

i pulled out some Google trends data casinos. From my limited knowledge, there is an uptick in the term “casino in goa”, the interesting data is that there is a relatively better uptrend in casinos owned by Delta Corp as against Big Daddy or Casino Carnival. This only proves that there is an increasing interest in deltin casino, how much of this will translate into revenue is yet to be seen.

This trend search shows that there is more interest now than there was in the last 5 years.

@abijith
Hope it’s not due to retail investors interest in delta corp casinos…!!

Doesn’t look like a good news - government ruling out shift of offshore casinos to lan near mopa airport. They are looking at alternative sites on waterways.

The online skill gaming division has shown no growth in Revenues at all. Also, the profit seems to have dropped drastically from the online gaming division to 1.21 cr from 12.83 cr in last yr quarter. Casino division margins have also dropped due to 50% covid constraints and certains costs being fixed in nature. Co has also requested for Goa govt for a waiver, but that looks improbable considering govts dependence on this. Looking forward to the mgmt commentary

Is the management doing a concall this time around? Its been 4 quarters they havn’t done a concall - and this during the time when their business was facing the biggest challenge. This seriously raises some doubt over the management

Yes definitely…forget about past couple of quarters where there was nothing much to inform…but from November onwards some business has started…So it would have been great if they had shared what’s the real situation at present and some visibility in revenue front…Hm… but they are not worried about investors…!!

There is apparently a conference hosted by Emkay on Feb 18th.
