I feel it will be better that people download the file in their drive and edit it.

@kuldeep_agarwal you had requested access as an editor. I have provided access, but it will be good you edit it in your copy. This will ensure that your edit has no impact on what others are seeing.

@visuarchie

So Vishwanath, as i go through videos, i think i missed a chance to speak to you directly.

Your detailed explanation made me feel like I’m finally getting the hang of investing. Now I can pretend I’m a finance guru! :grin:

I presumed you as this super-energetic guy in 20s with the way you responded to forum queries. But then, boom! Your training video hits, and it’s like watching a 20-year-old’s enthusiasm cranked up to 11!. :nerd_face:

One point i learned, which i am sure others might be thinking to try, keeping look back period shorter (especially in a flying market ) My not so experienced brain says it can generate higher return ?

Well done and may thanks for taking a time for such a nice webinar.

@LarryWink Thank you for your kind words.

Maybe you are a finance guru already; just testing us out now.

Regarding look back of 3 months - there is a lot of literature available saying that the more optimum look back period is between 6m and 1 year. In fact, they are saying that 3m is not very helpful. I mentioned this in the 2nd video also. If we want to reward recency, we can give a higher weightage to 6m performance. Currently we are doing 50% for 6m and 50% for 1year. We can change to 70 or 75% for 6m. This will need some backtesting; resource for which I do not have. What I will try and do is check what happens to the pf when I use a weightage of 70% for 6m for the next couple of months. We can review after about 6 months.

Hi sir, Thank you for guidance us, I have got same list like yours but order is different,
For testing purpose I have created 5Lakh portfolio.

@Malepati_Varaprasad Happy that you have created your pf.

I am interested to see why there is a difference. Is this the order for this week? Most of the numbers are identical except a few that are interchanged.

@Anand_Jain Is the order also matching? @Malepati_Varaprasad had a slightly different order.

@Anand_Jain There are some small differences in the order. I will post my list later today. 19 of the stocks are the same. Number 20 for me is APARINDS (not NBCC). This could be because last week NBCC could not enter as there was no vacancy and this week it is at 21.

This week also some stocks have dropped below 20 but will not go out as they are still within 25.

Look back date for 1 year is 12/05/2023 and for 6 months it is 10/11/2023. These are the dates that I have used.

Got it, 6 months date was 1 column earlier.

I still get confused with the 12 and 6-month date calculations.
Please explain if possible or post the consideration dates along with the stock list. So that I can verify every week.

Hi @visuarchie Sir,
Please explain how to decide whether there is a vacancy or not and how to decide exit?

@Anand_Jain We have a fixed portfolio of 20 stocks only. Therefore, if 1 stock goes out, only 1 can come in. Similarly, if 2 stocks go out, only 2 stocks can come in.

To reduce the churn, I have given some allowance. Even if the stock goes out of the top 20, I will not exit if it remains within the top 25, ie it can drop 5 more places before I exit.

In the above case, only CHALET exits as the other two stocks are within my 25 limit.
If 1 stock goes out, only 1 can come in.

Therefore, even if there are 3 new entrants in the top 20, only 1 can come in. Amongst the three, TATAINVEST ranks the highest (17th rank) and hence it is chosen. The other two are 18th rank and 20th rank.

Trust this is clear.

@visuarchie Hi Sir,

If possible, can you please share the latest working file of small cap momentum for me to start referencing from this.
Have seen your videos in Microcap momentum today and it was fantastic. Based on the same, i have updated momentum stocks file and list of stocks arrived was almost same as last week (except 2 stocks moving out of Top 30)
Thank you so much for your efforts and explanation.

Clear Sir, Thank you so much.

If possible just provide how to calculate the date for 12 and 6 months.
What I have understood is, what is the date of the last trading day look to the date 1 year ago if present take it or the nearest Friday after that, not before that,

for 6 months:- look for the date 6 months ago and choose the nearest Friday just after our date not before.
