I agree that all the pointers can be figured out with the data available on the Screener page. However, the motivation behind this extension is to provide a quick overview of the financials, allowing you to identify key areas at a glance and then dig deeper into the relevant sections as needed.

That said, I’d love to know if there are any specific features or improvements that could make the extension more useful for you.

The tool is designed to give you a comprehensive overview of a stock’s financial health by scoring various factors like Sales Growth, Margin Stability, ROE, ROCE, Debt Levels, and more. By looking at these scores, you can quickly identify areas where the company is performing well and where it might have some weaknesses.

For example, if you see a high score in “Sales Growth” and “ROE,” it indicates that the company has been growing its revenue consistently and is effectively utilizing its equity to generate profits. On the other hand, a low score in “Debt” might suggest that the company has high debt levels, which could be a risk factor.

This tool helps you dig deeper into specific areas based on the data available, allowing you to make more informed decisions. It’s essential to understand that this is not a buy or sell recommendation but rather a way to get a broad sense of the company’s current financial situation. If you feel that additional factors could be included or if you have any suggestions, I’d love to hear them!

I just added this tool to chrome and saw the points what has been given. It’s good we get the financial position in a nutshell but according to me it should give the basis on which each of these points have been given without which the readers will not be sure whether the conclusion of tool is accurate or not.

well at first thanks for sharing the tool. i just used it randomly for a co Everest industries and got an output of 6 Yes 4 neutral and 3 No with some brief explanations to each. even though the reasons are helpful to understand scoring but i dont think an investment decision can be made upon the basis of say a total score . So for me the commentary below each is more helpful than the scoring. Thanks again

Thanks so much for using Screener Specter and for your thoughtful feedback! I totally get what you’re saying about not relying solely on a total score—it’s important to dig into the details. I’m thinking about how to make the commentary even more central in future updates. Your input means a lot, and I really appreciate you taking the time to share it!

Thank you for sharing your experience with Screener Specter! I’m glad you found the explanations helpful. I completely understand your point about the total score—it’s definitely important to dive deeper into the details rather than relying solely on a single number. I’m considering ways to better emphasise the commentary and provide even more insights in future updates. Your feedback is really valuable, and I appreciate you taking the time to share it!

Thank you for the feedback! Sector-specific ratios are indeed an important consideration, and future versions of Screener Specter will explore incorporating this aspect to provide even more tailored insights.

Update: Screener Specter Version 1.2 || Aug 23, 2024

Excited to share the latest update for Screener Specter! In this version, we’ve enhanced the info icons and description modals for better clarity, added a feedback button, updated the fonts, and implemented a few minor fixes. Looking forward to your feedback as we continue to improve!

New Features in v1.3 and Future Plans!

I’m excited to share an update about the latest version of Screener Specter, a Chrome extension I developed to enhance our experience on Screener.in. After receiving some fantastic feedback, I’ve made several updates to make the extension even more useful for our investing journey!

What’s New in the Latest Update:

  • Improved Insights and Forensic Data: The extension now includes a “Shareholder Frenzy” factor that monitors changes in the number of shareholders over time to gauge investor interest, market sentiment, and potential volatility.
  • Better Performance: Under-the-hood optimizations ensure smoother performance and faster loading times.

Plus, I’ve added a Google Feedback Form right in the extension! Your input can truly shape its future, so please take a moment to share your thoughts and ideas.

Looking Ahead: Future Updates and AI-Powered Features

In future updates, I’m planning to add several new features to make Screener Specter even more customizable and insightful:

  • Customizable Forensic Settings: One of the exciting additions will be an optional settings menu that lets you personalize various forensic insights. For example, instead of using fixed constants for sales growth checks (like 15%, 10%, or 5%), you’ll be able to set your own parameters. This will also apply to compounded growth checks for consistency, allowing you to tailor the extension to suit your investment style perfectly!
  • AI-Driven Insights and Projections: I’m working on integrating AI to provide more advanced data analysis and trend prediction.
  • New Indicators and Visualizations: Based on user feedback, I plan to add more indicators and advanced filtering options, enhancing the depth of analysis available.

@anshu_saurabh Could we get a Alert Feature on Valuation Parameterers ? Example, if I want to have an Alert that let me know if xyz stock hit 0.8x Market Cap to Sales (Or Price to Book Value). Right now, Screener.in offers Alerts only on PE multiples and Prices.

Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately, it isn’t feasible to add an alert feature for valuation parameters like Market Cap to Sales or Price to Book Value. The extension uses real-time data from Screener when you visit a company page, and this data isn’t stored anywhere, so there’s no way to trigger alerts.

However, I can look into adding an indicator that shows if the price is below the median for such metrics (or customisable thresholds).

Hope that helps!

New Features in v1.5!
I’m excited to share the latest updates to Screener Specter! Based on valuable feedback, these improvements will make your experience on Screener.in even better for stock analysis.

What’s New in the Latest Update:

  • Expanded Valuation Insights: The extension now offers deeper insights into P/E, P/B, EV/EBITDA, and Market Cap/Sales ratios. These additions make it easier to spot potential undervaluation or overvaluation scenarios.

  • Improved Percentile Scoring: We’ve refined the scoring system, so high scores indicate more favorable valuation opportunities, while lower scores highlight potential overvaluation. Days with negative P/E values are excluded for better accuracy.

  • TradingView Chart Links: To enhance your charting experience, TradingView links are now integrated, offering more in-depth analysis options.

  • Improved User Interface: The UI has been enhanced to offer a smoother and more intuitive experience, making it even easier to access the insights you need.

Thanks for your continued feedback—these updates are driven by your input and will help Screener Specter keep evolving!

2. Support & Resistance Levels:
Now you can view key support and resistance levels, calculated based on strength and proximity to the current stock price. These levels can provide insights into potential price action.

Reflecting on the journey of developing Screener Specter has been a rewarding experience, and as we enter Samvat 2081, I wanted to share some insights that I hope resonate with fellow investors and builders.

The Power of Incremental Improvement

Developing Screener Specter has been a lesson in the value of small, steady enhancements. Every feature addition, from historical valuation metrics to support/resistance levels, has been shaped by user needs and feedback. This is much like investing, where gradual growth often outperforms sudden, impulsive changes. Success in both areas seems to come from patience, steady progress, and staying aligned with long-term goals.

Embracing Feedback and Adaptability

Feedback has been the driving force behind Screener Specter. Listening to users helped me evolve the tool to meet real-world needs, making it more effective and valuable. In investing, adaptability is equally essential. Markets continuously teach us to adjust based on new information rather than sticking rigidly to preconceived ideas. Embracing feedback, whether from users or markets, keeps us open to evolving and improving.

The Importance of Documenting Decisions

Throughout development, I documented significant changes, decisions, and the rationale behind each. This documentation provided clarity and direction, especially when faced with challenges. A similar approach can be invaluable in investing, where keeping a journal of decisions and emotions allows you to learn from past moves and recognize patterns. Revisiting these records periodically can prevent repeated mistakes and build on successful strategies.

Data Transparency and Fair Evaluation

A core priority for Screener Specter has been presenting data transparently, allowing users to interpret information without bias. Just as in investing, transparency and clarity prevent us from relying on one-sided narratives. Honest data evaluation—acknowledging both strengths and limitations—can prevent impulsive decisions and encourage balanced perspectives.

Balancing Simplicity with Complexity

Building a tool that is both comprehensive and user-friendly is a challenge, one that required me to continually evaluate which features added true value. In investing, simplicity can often outperform complexity. Overcomplicating an approach can lead to analysis paralysis or unnecessary over-trading. Striking a balance—focusing on core metrics without adding excess noise—enhances decision-making.

Staying Resilient Amidst Challenges

Building Screener Specter has had its share of obstacles, from debugging to incorporating new ideas. But every challenge reinforced my commitment and brought invaluable growth. Investing, similarly, can test patience and resilience, particularly during market downturns. Remembering the bigger picture and staying grounded in your purpose helps you weather challenges and emerge stronger.

Collaboration as a Force Multiplier

This past year has taught me the value of collaboration. Working alongside like-minded investors and developers has enriched both Screener Specter and my own approach to investing. Collaborating with others can offer fresh perspectives and insights, helping you think beyond your own blind spots. This is true in investing as well; discussing ideas and strategies with others can clarify thought processes and deepen understanding.

Looking Forward to Samvat 2081

As we step into Samvat 2081, I’m excited for the future possibilities for Screener Specter and the new horizons in investing. This new year offers a chance to embrace fresh perspectives, keep building on what we’ve learned, and stay resilient through the cycles. Wishing everyone a prosperous Samvat 2081, filled with growth, learning, and meaningful progress in both markets and life.

It’s an enhancement, plus it’s free.
Plugin might look average to you, but over time it will develop.

I really like it and it does look similar to what trendlyne offers with historical ratios.
