Community Feedback - Motivation/Culture/Goals

This is NOT a feedback on functionality/features but a slightly higher-level one that would like to ascertain from the Members - What motivates us to come to ValuePickr, what kind of culture or community spirit do we want to encourage, and what kind of goals do we want to set for ourselves?

Please participate freely and discuss freely. Include exemplify with specifics if you want to. This is our Community. We have attained a certain size where it makes sense to harness the community intelligence - for furthering/charting our own course forward!

Your enthusiastic participation will help us determine/scope the contours of a re-designed Platform that may serve us well for the next few years.

Over to Members!

(Don’t get your hopes soaring though. Initiatives like these take their time and we have had our share of false starts). Hope we can re-start and invigorate the process.

Personally, I use ValuePickr for the following-

  1. Contribute to discussions and avoid being blindsided. Its a sounding board to actively seek opposing views from other members. Investing is a mine field and one should seek out opposing views.

  2. Identify new companies and develop the communities’ knowledge. Help fellow members make the right investment decision and keep our behavioral biases in check.

Dear Admin,

There might be 1 or more options which a member would like to uphold. Would not a rating of 1-10 for every component help identify what makes us jump out of bed every morning to share ideas and read the latest views and analysis. Learning is definitely why every member is here but broadly speaking every other point carries more or less truth.

Thanks

Supratik

Supratik/Others,

This is attempted as a free-flowing exercise.

Within the 3 broad structures - motivation, culture, goals. please feel free to add weights, rate in order of preference, strike out what is non-applicable or add new aspects/factors that you think are/should be important.

But do start providing your inputs. This will also get others motivated to contribute to this important exercise.

Hi,

Wouldn’t it be easier to use “survey monkey” for ease of rating and analysis?

For qualitative discussions we can continue with this thread.

I agree with Supratik, I would rate most of the aspects up there with a 10/10. Especially on motivation all the reasons you have listed are equally important.

Cheers
