Yes saw this couple of days back in linkedin

Expecting big bang announcement from websol soon about this

Recently waare has said it’s 5.4GB integrated cell and module line costed them 3000cr during inauguration

so that 4GB cell line for 1500cr from websol looks possible and websol will get into league of premier and waaree with this as it will have 5.2GB cell capacity with waare at 11GB and premier at 7GB in couple of years

Hi Santhosh,
I am just sharing what i found in the public forum. I don’t forecast too much. However, If the JV’s plan is to start a Cell +Module line then it is not gonna be liked by market. Websol need to backward integrate to be ahead of competition.

A mere Cell + Module line is not going to take them anywhere by 2030. Govt. will slowly remove incentives for Cell manufacturers as the capacity comes in and it will increase benefits for backward integration.
Websol need to make investments into Polysilicon+Ingot+Wafer Technology which was considered in one of their board meetings. Only time will answer.

As of now it’s best to go with only cell plus modules as whole value of the product is between these two operations

Cost of imported wafer is 6rs
DCR cell cost is 100rs
Same DCR cell in module costs 160rs

So you can see that there is very little value left in making wafers and ingots and it’s capital intensive too

As of now this is better strategy and they can slowly move backwards later when they accumulate more cash from this operations

SEA does not include India, so it should be positive for Websol.

Websol included in ALMM List-1 from yesterday with an enlisted module capacity of 242 MW and with a max. panel capacity of 535 Wp @ 21.32% efficiency. :crossed_fingers:

Too many things which were anticipated are happening at a short interval. Now, Line 2 operation is pending.

I had a doubt regarding the new plant capacity addition

Nothing is mentioned in CWIP or Investments in the balance sheet of Websol Energy.

Any reason can be deduced?
