The Great Divide: As China Sheds Billions in U.S. Debt, Who is Buying the Dip?

This is a fascinating & important discussion you have started in the thread. De-dollarization has been a hot topic of discussion for some time. To my mind, the direction of the trend is more significant than its pace. In reading about the De-dollarization, what I have seen is that people tend to focus more on the pace rather than the direction. IMHO, a move like De-dollarization will not happen overnight. It will not happen even in the next 5 years or even 10. These changes happen gradually over decades. To illustrate, the denarius, the currency of Rome from ancient history, a sort of reserve currency from that time, continued to be used as reserve currency in international trade for 300 years after the Roman Empire fell. More recently, the UK pound was the reserve currency till it was dethroned by the Dollar, but it continued to be widely used as a reserve currency till the 1970s. I have uploaded a presentation that touches upon some of the elements of this discussion that you might like.
