yes but these are different..these are not ‘momentum index’ funds but simply ‘momentum’ funds

@Madhu_sudhan The index is getting updated next week. I will share the Google Sheet after updating it.

@Swaroop_NS I had a quick look at Nippon India Active Momentum Fund. They are adding several other factors in the mix,

Ours is a pure volatility adjusted momentum portfolio.

The universe is also different. This pf uses the smallcap250 at its universe, while the other MF uses Nifty 500.
We rebalance every week while this MF says they rebalance every 30 days and this is variable.

Our pf is 20 stock strong while they say it can be between 30 - 40 and can change.

Ours is very rule based, while I feel these MFs have a lot of discretionary elements.

@visuarchie , understood. Most of the active momentum mutual funds are rather new and there is not much data to make an inference. But, Samco Active Momentum Fund has been there since two years and has a return of 16%. If the index is used for benchmarking, some of the mutual funds could be used for peer comparison.

There are some interesting case studies involving such looking back and investing based on past performance. As always it is a mixed bag - good during bull runs.

I got a message late last evening that the post was being removed as it was violative of community guidelines. I am not sure what was different as the thread was going on for more than 1 year in the same way. @Donald - can you please help as the thread (that I thought was quite beneficial for everyone) has been removed?

@satishwe …Please let us know..it was very useful thread.

Hi All,
I understand these ( momentum portfolios) topics were created sometime back and many members were actively engaging in the discussion so far. But we will not be able to allow this going ahead in the forum.
Please refer the updated guidelines here.

I hope everyone understands that this is a public forum and we will be updating the guidelines (based on Sebi) periodically.
