As we are building more and more renewable energy. Which is definitely a good sign for the country, but its not that of a good sign for country’s grid. Renewable energy being varying in nature creates a lots of stress on the grid.
The solution to this in my belief is
- Energy Demand and Supply Forcasting
- Grid Automation
- Distributed Energy Resource Management
- Virtual Power Plant
But as of now, i am unable to find any companies listed in indian market having a meaningful exposure towards this side of the value chain, If anyone from the community have any idea regarding players in this sectors, Please feel free to drop your replied.

Finding a pure-play software company dedicated solely to VPPs or energy forecasting is almost impossible because this ecosystem is currently dominated by massive global technology conglomerates and capital goods giants. No Pure Play Listed Indian Company
But Electrification & Grid Automation Giants companies provide the core hardware like SCADA systems, advanced switchgears and software layers like Advanced Distribution Management Systems required for grid automation. So Something like Hitachi Energy, Siemens, GE Vernova T&D, Schneider Electric could be a play
Power Grid have Renewable Energy Management Centres which use sophisticated forecasting tools to predict renewable generation variations and coordinate real-time grid adjustments across states.
Beyond that smart meters also have good amount of data which can be processed and Genus Power and HPL Electric are into smart meters dont know if they have though of this
Also i heard Adani Energy is building digital platform analytics to manage demand-side response and load forecasting for their retail distribution zones like Mumbai
