Issue date after stock split

Dear Friends,

I understand that in case of stock split, unlike bonus shares, cost of aquisition will also be reduced in the same proportion. Then, what about the issue date of new shares ?

For eg: Mayur Uniquoters issued bonus shares in August 2012. I was thinking of selling these shares only after one year to avoid STCG tax. Now they have announced stock split this year. After stock split, how the issue date will be recorded for the new shares ? Same issue date as of original bonus shares or a new issue date ?

My understanding is, the issue date for new shares will be same as original shares & bonus shares respectively.
