Excerpt from Q2FY22 CC - PTC is just a broker for other buyers and sellers. The client decides where they want to buy and sell not PTC.

Mgmt. Implied it is similar to one buying shares on zerodha, and who decides whether to buy from BSE or NSE.

Will iex be charging same rate to them. 2 paisa?

They haven’t disclosed the prices yet, however, will be interesting to see the disclosure. This will mean more volumes on the exchange and added Proof-of-Concept for our States to participate even more in this Exchange.
Please feel free to add more on this as I would like to get more of your inputs on this

IEX_REC_tradedetails.pdf (590.2 KB)
Total cleared volume of 24,443,549 RECs on first day of resuming trade.

Can someone please tell how much money IEX made with these volumes? Do we get 20 ruppes each from buyer & seller from each trade? If yes, does that mean we made approx. 10 crores {(253118+2190431)*(20+20)} from these volumes?

Considering such trade numbers or moderate growth then every quarter 30-35 crores contribution an be expected from REC trading? Is it the correct way to look at it?..if someone could guide.

Wait for the next few REC trading sessions. There was a big gap of 16 months, so this maybe all the pent up trading demand.

If they continue to do such volumes or even increase it for next few sessions then yes.

Renewable credits are a lucrative business. I am sure the volumes will continue to be higher than 2019 levels, just not sure how high.

If you want to understand how lucrative RECs can be, study Tesla. Most of revenue until 2020 used to come from selling RECs.

The other variable here is GTAM and other green products when launched.
States have to procure power from green sources and RECs act as the placeholder when they cant procure green power. GTAM gives them both those things so its possible that as green products expand, REC trading becomes lower

The volumes seems to have dropped off a cliff. I’m new to this scrip and I don’t have any fundamental understanding of the business what I understand its an exchange so I looked in to volumes as first sign of business health. Is the temporary or seasonal?
