To me fair value has two connotations:

1: Fair value assigned by market:
Strongly recommend reading wealth of info explained in most simplistic way.

    1. Intrinsic value: trying to find deep down true worth. Propogated by Gurus. Ben Graham provided a mathematical framework. (Recommend some reading on how to adjust that for current time/Indian context)
