Waiting for CV numbers
Exports in April 2015 is also decent when you do an Y on Y comparison…a 25.3 per cent jump in April 2015 at 800 units as against 638 units shipped in same month of last year.
CV Data came in and it is encouraging as well
VE Commercial Vehicles today reported 11.8 per cent increase in the sales of Eicher branded trucks and buses in April at 3,838 units as against 3,434 in the same month last year.
In the domestic market, Eicher trucks and buses recorded sales of 3,501 units in the month as compared to 2,791 units in April 2014, up 25.6 per cent, the company said in a statement.
Exports of Eicher trucks and buses were down 47.9 per cent at 335 units as compared to 643 units in April last year.
Volvo trucks recorded sales of 92 units in April as compared to 69 units in the same month last year, a growth of 33.3 per cent, it added.
Both Ashok Leyland and Eicher Motor has shown recovery in CV. Looks promising area in Auto going ahead.
Is Eicher planning to enter new segments with Harris purchase?
Harris Performance is one of the leading experts in designing and manufacturing of specialised high performance motorcycle chassis and components.
Under the terms of the deal, Royal Enfield will acquire all assets, employees, trade names, technical know-how and intellectual property of Harris Performance Products, the company said in a statement.
Alongside successful relationships with the Royal Enfield brand, Harris Performance has been the only manufacturer from UK to have been officially commissioned by Yamaha and Suzuki to design, develop and manufacture race bikes for Grand Prix and World Superbike, it added.

They have been the chasis developer for Cafe racer model and have long standing relation with Eicher.
So seems like a good fit for the new platforms that Eicher has been planning to do. This article has more details.

There was an article in Business Standard which mentions “Eicher overtakes Hero on M-cap” . Eicher’s M-cap is Rs 50,709 crores compared to Hero Motocorp’s 50,355 crs.
The Revenue / PAT of Eicher Motors is Rs 3031 crs / 559 crs vs Hero Motocorp 27585 crs / 2385 crs.

Only bad part was the multix.in website is under construction. The company shall have taken care of same before issuing press release
