79 TCS shares = 100 CMC shares as per the merger deal.

so if TCS shares is at 2500/- , CMC share should be @ 2500*0.79 = 1975

I’ve a basic doubt. If I don’t have money to buy 100 shares of CMC and say I hold only 10 shares of CMC, how many TCS shares would I receive?

I bought TCS (along with Tech Mahindra) today.

I do not know. But I can guess -

you will get 7 shares and the remaining money for 0.9 shares should be credited into your bank account just like dividend…

Yes,Money will be credited to your account after a few days for the odd lot.

Right now CMC’s cmp is 1885 which corresponds to TCS price of 1885/0.79 = 2386

So as TCS price is trading above 2386, one should be buying CMC for buying TCS if one thinks TCS is worth 2386/-.
