There are lots of corporate announcements made by the Indian listed companies. Tracking all announcements becomes a difficult task for us. I am starting with special situation announcements (Buyback, Demerger, Divestment, Open offer, Delist, etc.) from various listed companies. I am tracking it all manually so asking for forgiveness if I have missed any of the announcements.

Thanks its working now @jimit1991 . However, very curious to understand how are you able to source all the updated information ? I am also checking out BSE/NSE corporate information announcements as well enabling google alerts for any special situation corporate action announcement.
Any other tools that you may use that you can suggest?

Experts please help me with special situations on the following areas:

  1. Which government website should be followed for demergers and other special situations?
  2. Which part of the document/filing is the most important in the demerger scenario?
  3. What do you typically look for in a demerger? Good as well bad?
  4. Any book apart from Greenblatt for special situations or other blogs or books or YT channel?

Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd (ABFRL) is demgering its operations and separating the attractive lifestyle brand business and unattractive retail business. Shareholders and institutions would be attracted to the attractive business which might lead to a sell-off of ABFRL. This could provide a great investment opportunity for the short-medium term if the stock falls following the listing of ABLBL. The stock fell 10% on 4 June, following sell-off of 6.2% equity by Flipkart as Myntra would require the business of ABLBL. The non-investment sell-off has already started before the listing of ABLBL.

Upon further research, the company is going to raise 2,500 cr for ABFRL and promoters are expected to fully support it showing confidence in the retail business, showing promoter confidence and incentive in ARBL. This thesis is similar to Joel Greenblatt’s case study on Host Marriott.
