Sterling & Wilson Solar Ltd. - Will the Sun Keep Shining?

Hi

Actually solar EPC is very poor business to be in, while the opportunity is large, the business is highly competitive and commoditised.

In fact I would think that it is the same in renewable energy field, large opportunity but difficult to make monies.

Cheers

Any views on the Q1 results and con call? To me the numbers look good consistent with the turnaround over last few quarters. But the street hasn’t reacted positively.

Same here, adjusting for the onetime write-off of the receivables, by every metric, the company seems to have exceeded all my expectations. The revenue growth, and gross and op EBITDA margins in particular are quite exemplary. Maybe muted order inflow or repeated reminders of a possibly weak Q2 due to monsoon is hampering the stock? Also, there was a large jump in price and volume just before the trading window closed for insiders, but shareholding pattern shows no large movement for key personnel?

Based on Q1 26 results, this definitely looks like a turnaround story. Margins should improve hereon and working capital is also constantly improving. They are into BESS projects as well as have good international presence.

Views on q2 results please. Doesn’t look like company is able to generate any cash flows.

Not comfortable when shareholder’s equity is wiped out like this…

Also, the growth equation is also in question. They might be forced to do more dilution to raise (working) capital to fund growth.

Disc: Exited my position fully.

Sterling and Wilson wins second South African project this fiscal valued at rupees 1,313 Cr. It received LoA for a 240 MW AC turnkey project in South Africa. Total EPC order inflows this fiscal have exceeded Rs. 5,088 Cr.
Margins are going to better, let’s see.

SW got a huge order from Adani + 5 year strategi partnership agreement.

Somehow i don’t have a good feeling about Reliance projects now.

Does this mean the previous loss in Q2 (US arbitration, etc) will be offset by previous promoter family Shapoorji?

So this recent case was not covered and by the looks of it, hopefully, no other new unpleasant surprises.
