“Polyplex Corporation “ Are Good Days Ahead?

As per data share holding data available at screener (Register - Screener) - it seems “First Water Fund” is reducing ownership in Uflex and increasing in Polyplex, at least in last 3 quarters.

@Arka from which website did you get the holdings of First Water Fund?

Search “Polyplex Screener” on Google

Scroll down to Shareholding Pattern and expand FII

You will see the name [First Water Fund] → Click on that

However at a portfolio level, it seems they have allocated more money to Uflex vs Polyplex. Reason for this understanding of mine:

  1. Market Cap of Uflex > Polyplex
  2. Holding of First Water in Uflex > Polyplex

So when we take current market cap of uflex & polyplex and shareholding as of Sep 2024 (assuming more or less shareholding is same) … money invested in Uflex would be more than Polyplex.

Not sure how they would have aligned the portfolio between these two companies post analysing Q2FY2025 results and expectations here onwards.

Additonal BOPET capacity of 52400 MTA to be added in India, at a cost of 65 Mn USD (Eqvt. to Rs. 558 Crores approx.), by H1 FY2027-28.

Existing capacity in India - 90,000 MTPA (for both BOPET and BOPP films)

Good news but what is the current capacity utilisation. Does it take 3 years from now for this addition. If true, I presume the 558 crores to be spread over the next 3 years.

Current capacities are fully utilised as per the notification and the capacity is to come online in H1 Fy27-28 . This is a commodity industry and overcapacity is an inherent problem as already the prices are low world over due to this .So its fine if the capacity comes online late when demand overtakes the current oversupply situation.
