setting up a new manufacturing facility at Belgaum, Karnataka

In a first of its kind export deal, Germany’s biggest gas trader Uniper recently has agreed to buy 250,000 tonnes of green ammonia.

Green Ammonia would be made in India from Green Hydrogen.
Upon reaching German shores, the ammonia will partially get converted back to hydrogen and used for industrial decarbonisation. The residual part will be used for the fertiliser and specialty chemicals industry as feedstock. .

This is the most opportune moment for India’s $26.5 billion National Green Hydrogen Mission to start firing.
we will have to wait and see how many more countries are lining up to buy/ import Green Hydrogen from India, given the advantage of Huge potential of Solar/ wind / renewable energy which can be used to produce Green hydrogen / Green Ammonia In India.

India the only major economy that is “making advances on all aspects of energy transition,”-the World Economic Forum

Though the country still ranked a lowly 67 among 120 countries in terms of the progress in the transition.
This could be due to the huge no of existing and active Coal based thermal powerplants and refineries producing carbon emissions which is difficult to phase out for years.
