Great articles to read on the web

A website dedicated to understanding and training rationality.

Only thing I can agree is that commodity prices will show upward trend, rest of them will not play out as highlighted by Ruchir. In fact, most of them are contradictory to each other. Inflation rise foretells increase in asset prices and stocks. Digital revolution is led by efficient societies more than developing one and hence developed world will benefit more. Best time to buy property while stock market is sluggish, I don’t know when was this last observed. Rise of new challengers - thats always happening and nothing new. In fact, in last decade no new challenger has emerged… hope India can be the next one.

How do we identify major listed pharma players in medicines related to influenza, croup, bronchiolitis etc.?

The possibility of a rebound is not merely theoretical: It appears to be happening already in Australia. Official reports showed historically low levels of flu-like illness among children and adults beginning in May, usually the start of flu season in that hemisphere. The sharp decline in cases came as the country imposed strict shutdown measures. But in the last few months, after the coronavirus was virtually obliterated and the country ended those restrictions, the number of flu cases among children aged 5 and younger began to soar, rising sixfold by December, when such cases are usually at their lowest.

Red this interesting article. "2021 Investment Horizons: The QE endgame"

Key Points …

  • Debt monetisation is set to become a standard monetary policy tool
  • The market severely underestimates inflation risk in the medium term
  • Low interest rates have unwelcome effects, but they are necessary
  • Central banks were right to embrace unorthodox approaches
