I have 1 very important question. You have mentioned CAUSTIC SODA capacity at 4.1 Lakh ton per annum, and Caustic soda Flakes at 2.1 lakh ton.
1- Does this 2.1 lakh is included in 4.1lakh or You are saying that GACL total caustic capacity is at 6.2 lkh, because according to me their total capacity is only 4.1lkh tonne/annum as mentioned in their annual report
2- What’s the main trigger for buying this company as Caustic Soda is very volatile commodity and currently there is oversupply globally.

Looking forward from learning from you.
Thanks

Thanks for sharing. It seems that Covid caused a lot of supply disruptions so that prices of various commodities including caustic soda was abnormally high during the pandemic years (roughly during CY21 and CY22). Can you also please share what caustic soda prices were before the pandemic (say maybe 2 yr or 3 yr median/average price before Mar2020) so that after adjusting for inflation, one might make some guesstimate of what the “normal level” of future prices might be like? Thanks in advance.

they were well below 30, more so in the range of 20-25. Newbies thought they will be at 60 forever. Rarely had they gone up above 40. October they were 72, now more so in the range of 38 and (most likely) headed lower to 34. Baaki no one knows except twitter experts (you know who)

Caustic Soda Lye Prices were impacted due to lots of factors as other countries were dumping caustic soda in India due to higher realization for chlorine.
