Good initiative.
I would recommend three more poems on top of the two by A.E. Houseman and Rudyard Kipling.
-
The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzUm0wqhE7E and https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/44272/the-road-not-taken. Everyone has read this one. It’s pertinent both for those who run businesses. And for those who manage investment portfolios. Signifies the importance of having an independent mind and not giving into social proof - blind imitation of what everyone else is doing. A habit that is costly for businessmen. And investors.
-
Invictus by W.E. Henley - See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pJcwnS1c0I and https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/51642/invictus. Very inspirational. The last two lines can be interpreted to mean businesses which not fragile. Rather they are either robust or anti-fragile because they have very little dependencies on external factors.
-
Bag of Tools by R.L. Sharpe. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhg2OtLO-qA and https://www.poetrynook.com/poem/bag-tools. I love the last two lines because they teach us about the role of innovation when we build things or understand how the world works with the help of a bag of tools (mental models). It also signifies the importance of seeing opportunities in adversity…
All the best!
